Da Fuzz

The kids got a treat this past week when the OPP stopped a boat on the lake right in front of our cottage!

The young lads in the boat were not very impressed (please admire the back bench in the boat. Teehee.)

They got a serious 20-minute lecture and received numerous citations. All three officers were writing tickets in their scribble pads.

Eventually the police let them carry on their way and they drove off themselves.

It was a great opportunity to remind the kids about boat safety, that everyone needs a PFD, that the boat needs a paddle, floating rope, a bailing can and a signalling device. We also reminded them that the boat operator needed to have a boat operator card, or "boat license".

Clearly they took the lesson to heart, because the next time they headed out in the pedalboat they doubled checked that they all had their safety gear, and they each made "boat licenses", just in case the cops stopped them.

*gush*
