Fridge darts

We have a strict "no screen time" rule at the cottage. Yes, there's a t.v. but the only time it's been turned on this entire summer was when a 1-yr-old guest decided to play with the power button.

I am often amazed by the resourcefulness of kids at play when "screen time" is not an options (TV, Videos, Game consoles, computers, etc.).When the weather turned cool recently and rain was persistent, the kids were stuck inside and needed to amuse themselves.

They came up with fridge-darts!

To play fridge-darts, you need: 1. A fridge. 2. A target. 3. Rare-earth magnets.

The rare-earth magnets are important. I think if you used everyday fridge magnets, they wouldn't stick quickly enough and would just bounce off the fridge.

The kids took turns whipping their little magnets at the fridge and kept score. I don't know what kind of long-term damage this would do to the fridge, but the fridge is at the cottage, it was free, and the kids weren't bothering me for at least an hour so I wasn't about to object to their game.
