Fahmilly

We had some family visit the lodge this weekend!

My Cousin K, her Hubby T, and their son D took their boat from their home marina on Chemong lake and travelled along the Trent waterway thru 12 locks (actually 17, but only because they went back and forth through the Lift Lock a couple of times) and down the Otonabee River into Rice Lake. I think they visited the Lift Lock so much because 14-yr-old cousin D enjoyed being identified as Justin Bieber by the tour guide aboard the Lift-Lock tour boat. Apparently he nearly caused the tour boat to capsize when the gaggle of girls ran to the railings to peer at Justin Bieber vacationing in the Kawarthas.

Their boat is a wee piddly thing (holy heck is it ever big). It took them two days to make the trip, and they spent one evening at the Peterborough Marina. They had good things to say about the folks at the marina. Very helpful, place is well run, etc.

While visiting, they took a trip in to Bewdley *hocchhhhhh patoo* to pick up eggs, milk, butter, and bread. The captain, Handy Dad, and the kids +1 (we stole the neighbours' child, too) hopped aboard for the trip. It was uneventful, no keys were lost, and a loaf of buttermilk was acquired.

We had a great visit with excellent food, far too many laughs at the Captain's expense (more on that later), and Cousin D, who had never water-skied before, was crossing the wake and skiing with one hand before the weekend was out. Show off!
